Umoja: The Samburu’s Women-Only Village Meet the women of Umoja – who quite literally, decided to build a village just for them. That means women and children only. It might sound extreme, except the village was built as a safe haven for gender violence survivors, 34 years ago. Today, Umoja shelters over 50 women and 200 children. |  |
