"Very creepy to me that he knew where I was..."
šØI had never heard of this safety concern until a member posted it in our FB community.
A Surprising Safety Tip
Every Women Needs To Know This
Imagine this: You hop out of your Uber, start walking away, and assume the ride is over.
But then you check your phone.
The trip is still active.
Your driverāwho is just around the blockācan still see exactly where you are. And then he messages you.
Thatās what happened to a solo traveler in our community.
šØ She was dropped off, but the driver never ended the trip.
šØ He stayed parked one block away, watching her GPS location in real-time.
šØ Then he messaged her, asking if she wanted to take a walk with him in a ravine. What?!
šØ Uber only took her report seriously after she contested a cancellation fee.
Let that sink in.
This isnāt about paranoiaāitās about being prepared.
ā Always check that your trip has ended before walking away.
ā If it hasnāt, cancel it yourself so your location disappears.
ā Trust your instinctsāif something feels off, report it. Loudly.
āØBut hereās the bigger picture.
Every time we pass along a safety tip, check in on a woman walking alone, or warn someone about a sketchy situation, we make the world a little bit safer for all of us.
We share stories like this not to scare each other, but to empower each other.
Solo travel is about freedom. But freedom doesnāt mean fearlessnessāit means having the knowledge and confidence to navigate the world on our own terms.
Our Facebook group isnāt just the largest solo female travel community in the world (not to flex, but⦠it is). More importantly, itās proof that when we come together, we make solo travel safer, stronger, and more accessible for every woman who dares to explore.
š Whatās a safety tip you swear by?
Head to our Facebook group and share it using #SoFeSafetyTip so we can all learn from each other.
We travel solo, but weāre never alone. Keep looking out for each other. š
See you on the road,

āThis was my first SoFe tour and both the magic of the trip and the beauty of the country totally took my breath away. It was safe and organized but I still felt like I have time and space to wander around and do my own thing sometimes. I loved meeting so many local women, including our amazing guide Fey and our amaaaaaazing female driver Fatma! 100 percent recommend this trip to all women.ā
