It’s Amanda, founder of The Solo Female Traveler Network.

As a female founder, I know firsthand how important it is to celebrate other women in business. I know how hard it can be and how many hurdles so many of us have had to overcome, especially in some areas of the world. And I also know what magic can be made when women come together to create.

Last week was International Women’s Day and it really had me reflecting on all of the extraordinary women who’ve been a part of making SoFe Travel what it is today: a space where women come together to support, share, explore, and connect with other solo travelers. So — today’s email is about the women behind the magic.✨

Meet Sirena, Lebanonon

Sirena was born and raised in Beirut and is our head of tours on the ground in Lebanon. She loves to dance to the oriental beats of her ancestors and spends all her time swimming, SUP in the Mediterranean Sea, hiking and sipping sunset drinks. While you’re winding through the UNESCO heritage sites, Sirena will be sharing all the secrets of Lebannon’s forgotten history.

Meet Yumet, Cuba

Yumet is a teacher, mama, and not-so-secretly, a talented singer. With an impressive reservoir of knowledge about Cuba’s history, we snagged Yumet away to become our permanent tour guide. Beyond the iconic architecture, sights, and sounds, and tucked away from the hotel zones,  Cuba has a richer story to tell– and Yumet is our sound piece.

Meet Komal, India

Komal has been working in the travel industry for the past 10 years. She started her career in tourism as a tour guide at a time when it was very rare for women to work in such a profession and hence became one of the first female guides in Delhi. What she loves most about working with us is introducing our travelers to the real India and its people.
