Here's what happened in India...

Ever wonder what it is actually like to travel to a place like India? This will give you a pretty good idea.

We just came back from India,
and this is how it went!

It’s in the culture and tradition, passed down from mother to daughter. It’s in the flavor of recipes as old as time. It’s in the mesmerizing architecture and the dramatic singularity of Bollywood films. It’s in the scent of chai and the beckoning of a friendly hand  — welcome, padharo.

India is where you go to find the things you didn’t even know you were missing. And it’s where we bring travelers to experience unforgettable moments that’ll change them, forever.

Our travelers have plenty to say about their experience on our latest India tour. Keep reading to see what it’s really like to travel with us in India.

(Some of) The Best Parts

The Happiest Holiday

What a way to break the ice! We started off this tour with the celebration of love and color- Holi Festival! Our amazing guide, Komal, invited us into her family home for a proper Indian party complete with grandma’s home-cooking and plenty of flowers and color to throw. It was a warm day with cold beer and music bumping…and of course, new travel loving friends.

The Taj Mahal

That traveler moment when your breath catches and your mind takes a moment to catch up to what your eyes are seeing… The Taj Mahal is even more stunning in person, and as we wandered through the gardens with our guide getting lesser known perspectives for gorgeous photos. We also learned that it was built as a testament of love.

A Cooking Class at Home

Food is a rich part of Indian culture with recipes passed down generations from mother to daughter. We are welcomed into our friends’ home where the aunties (an affectionate terms for all sweet older ladies) teach us how to make some of their best dishes. We slapped chapati onto the grill, played with the little kids, sipped masala chai, and ended the evening with a feast of everything we prepared.

Sheroes Cafe

On all of our Meetup Tours, we passionately believe in listening to, focusing our travel budget, and spending time with women. This is one of the organizations we love to go back to because it gives hope, community, and resources to survivors of acid attacks. We listen to their harrowing stories, have a delicious lunch prepared from scratch, buy some handmade goods, maybe get some henna, and spend an afternoon with empowered women.
