First Official SoFe Team Email Ever.

Hello team.

You know in Bridget Jones's Diary when she is introducing people at parties and includes odd little tidbits about the person all awkwardly and sometimes inappropriately? Well, that's what I've done in this first official weekly team email. We've got some OG members turned leaders and some brand new faces in here, and not all of you know each other, so let's make some introductions! I have listed you all in the order you came into the SoFe Team, and I admit freely that every singe one of you is way cooler than I make you sound. 

Linda, Guesthouse Boss and Tour Leader and Excel Master

I met in Linda through our FB group in the early days, and she became a fast friend. She came as our very first leader on the first tour to Bali where we dreamily thought "how cool would it be to have a SoFe hostel?" Linda made it happen. COVID killed it, but that's ok. Linda embodies the SoFe spirit and her insane ability to be prepared for any situation, kind heart, and killer excel sheet skills make her an amazing tour leader.

Nikki, Head Tour Leader

I met this babe at the airport on my way to Bali for our first ever Meetup Tour. She was standing in front of me in line to get onto the plane, and if you know me, I have a hard time not talking to any woman who I suspect is a solo traveler, so I broke the ice by asking her about weight limits for carry-ons (smooth right?). Anyway, we became buds and 2 and a half years later she's our head tour leader! She will pet all the dogs, eat all the food, and always have a blast no matter what.

Melinda, Tour Leader

Renay, Tour Leader

Renay is not only a kind and accommodating sort of leader, she also is a tour guide and photographer in Chefchaouen, Morocco. In fact, that's where I met her when I was leading one of our tours. Renay is our go-to leader for Morocco, but her extensive travels and positivity make her an awesome leader anywhere. She's cool under pressure and a pro, seriously the best, at smiling at demanding people. Right now she's locked out of her home in Morocco making the best of it working on her new, badass planter biz!

Victoria, Tour Leader

Victoria is our newest addition to the tour leading team, and she's been a fierce cheerleader ever since. Her main love is Egypt, where she just moved literally a couple days ago! She's also helped with the website and will soon be our IG assistant. Victoria's feathers don't get ruffled very easily, and that's one reason she will make an amazing tour leader once the world opens up. She's also great with an iPhone camera and can make fast friends with anyone. 

Eve, Tours Manager

From new tours to customer communication, Eve is all about the experiences we provide to our participants. Eve is American born and currently living in The Netherlands. She's our go-to for any questions tour related because in addition to her role with us, she is an experienced tour guide. Eve is all about supporting communities, trying the local vegan food, and is up for any new adventure that comes her way!

Bailey, Content Queen

If you have seen our latest newsletters, then you have met the newest addition to the team! Bailey is a journalist and extra adventurous solo female traveler. She is the face behind our new newsletter, writes some content for us, and also runs the NYC chapter of our Meetup chapter. She's a pro at Google Street View, road trips are her jam, and is a super creative kind of traveler...ya know, the best kind.

There you have it! This is our team! In addition to these gorgeous faces, our FB mods work hard to keep our community going strong, we have a few go-to content writers to support the website, and there is our website developer who we call for emergencies.  

You all are the heart of SoFe Travel, and one day we will finally meet again on rooftop bars in Marrakech, over way too much koshary in Egypt, and with a bottle of rosé literally anywhere in the world. I am so thankful for your ideas, passion, and dedication to making SoFe amazing and for your support during these tough times. We have so much to look forward to in the near future making up for postponed adventures!
