Do YOU Belong Here?

Not everyone should come on a SoFe Trip.

Years ago, back when hiring a guy with a cardboard sign at the bus station didn’t sound like the start of a true-crime documentary, I booked a “cultural tour.” A tidy man in a pressed polo lifted a handwritten placard, and I followed.

I was the only woman in a group of sixteen. Everyone else was fifty-plus. I was twenty-seven. We kept being introduced to women, one after another, and I thought, “How nice, we are meeting local people. What a great tour.

Two hours in, a sixty-something with a lacquered combover latched onto our waitress’s hand. “You’re beautiful,” he crooned. “Are you looking for a husband too? I have a boat.”

That’s when I knew. This was a tour for foreign men shopping for local wives. I didn’t belong.

Lesson learned: sometimes you just don’t belong. And that’s ok.

While you won’t find someone’s grandpa groping waitresses on our tours, we still aren’t for everyone. On purpose.

As the founder of SoFe Travel, I design our tours the way I like to travel:

1️⃣ Small groups, max 14. Names by day one; inside jokes by day two. We are equal parts best-damn-trip-of-my-life and I-met-my-best-friend.

2️⃣ Planned, not rigid. We map the must‑sees, then leave room for serendipity, crashing an Indian wedding, a mojito‑fueled salsa class in Cuba, or a Mongolian throat singer hunting an audience.

3️⃣ Local guides, handpicked. Expert, ethical, friend‑material, the kind who know the auntie at the market, the chai‑wallah by name, and the shortcut through the souk.

4️⃣ We hit the icons, then slip behind the scenes. Every itinerary takes you into kitchens and courtyards, living rooms and late‑night taxis, experiences you won’t Google your way into.

Should YOU come on a SoFe Trip?

You may not be a fit if…

❌ You don’t want to leave your comfort zone.

❌ You have no interest in learning about a place beyond taking IG photos.

❌ You get frustrated when plans change, even when something amazing happens

You’re uncomfortable being the only foreigner in the room

❌ You have no interest in making new friends or connecting with fellow travelers.

You might LOVE us if…

✅ You’re looking for a trip that will change the way you view travel.

✅ You want to feel part of something, not just observe it

You like a little luxury, and also want boutique guesthouses, glamping, and feature stays.

Traveling with fellow solo female travelers is part of the fun for you.

You’re curious, kind, and want experiences and stories, not just checklist ticks.

We design trips for alignment, not mass appeal.
That’s how they stay special. And the women on them do too.🦄
