The tourism industry has lost 320 billion dollars due to the pandemic

According to the UN World Tourism Organization, the tourism industry has already lost 320 billion dollars due to the pandemic! The agency is calling for a reopening of all borders with safety protocols in order to boost tourism. However, some are worried that this strategy will result in an increase of Covid-19 cases worldwide. Read it from the source 

Planning a Costa Rican vacation?

The government of Costa Rica is allowing residents of some US states to visit the country. Only people presenting with an identification from the following states will be allowed in the country: New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and Connecticut. Visitors will also have to present a negative test for Covid-19, made 48 hours before departure. Read it from the source.  

Belize postpones the reopening of its airport

The government of Belize has announced that the reopening of its borders to welcome back tourists will be delayed. The country was set to welcome travelers back on August 15th, but had to delay because of the current state of the pandemic, with the number of cases still increasing. “Clean and safe stamp” introduced in Portugal

As Portugal allows tourists from more and more countries to visit, new measures have been taken to encourage travellers to come. Hotels, restaurants and even car rental companies will be able to receive a “clean and safe stamp” from the government. This certification proves that the establishment is following the national health guidelines to ensure the safety of its clients. This could inspire other countries as a way to reassure tourists. A feminist road trip to discover in Ohio

Ohio’s tourism board has organized a state-wide road trip in honour of the women’s liberation movement. This circuit includes 8 stops in different cities, each one representing a different aspect of the history of the women’s rights movement. This initiative was launched to commemorate the 100th year of the signing of the 19th amendment, which granted women the right to vote on August 18th, 1920. Read it from the source.
